![]() ![]() Also let me know if my post is in the wrong place or needs a different flair. If anyone has a good idea as to what the problem might be I'd be very grateful. I've used the Focusrite fine for years and the fact that only FL studio triggers the problem means that I have no idea which piece of software or hardware the problem lies in. Like I said, I'm normally sufficient at solving my own problems but I don't understand this one at all. Restarting the computer is the only thing that fixes this but the problem triggers again after trying to use FL. After this, sound through FL studio does not work at all and sound in other programs is distorted and clicks through Focusrite USB ASIO but works fine through other devices (such as FL Studio ASIO or Realtek Digital Output). I use a Scarlett Focusrite Solo and over the last few days I've encountered an issue where after a few minutes of using FL I hear a pop and the sound cuts out. I don't normally ask for help on here but I've got a bit of a problem that I really don't understand. You can only use one app per ASIO driver in Windows you might be able to use the other Drivers in the same way. ![]() You can choose the ASIO4ALL driver instead of WASAPI if you don’t need to use sound from another app during a session. If your lucky this will work and those setting should last until the next windows update that end up resetting the sample rates to default forcing you to redo this part over. 256 is the sweet spot with enough buffering to keep the audio smooth and a low enough latency that is barely noticeable when tracking. Basically your trying to setup your system for the lowest latency possible with clean jitter free sound throughout the sessions. Open it click on the wrench and select or deselect the option to force the driver to only use 48k, then you can lower the latency from 512 to 256 or even 128 if your system can handle it without any pops or jitter. Once the OS and sound card driver have the same defaults launching the DAW will also launch ASIO4ALL in the tray. Then go to the Realtek setting that’s part of your sound card and make sure it’s using the same sample rate, before launching FL Studio. Starting with Control Panel in Windows set the sound quality to CD or DVD first. 44.1k if your primarily working with audio or 48k for video editing. This won’t work if the sample rates are not all the same. if your lucky, the inputs and outputs from your interface will become available for use provided the interface is selected within the ASIO4ALL window that should pop up As a green icon in the lower right side of the dock. The combination that is working well right now uses the “Wasapi shared driver“ that is selected within the DAW. If you use standalone instruments or record what you hear through an app or browser then it gets even more complicated. It only works well once you find the right combination of drivers and settings to get low latency jitter free from your interface onto a Daw. I’ve spent enough time getting my PC to work well enoug to offer some suggestions even though I barely understand why low latency audio on a PC is so convoluted compared to a Mac. ![]()
